Mistwood by Leah Cypess
Pub. Date: April 27, 2010
Goodreads says, "The Shifter is an immortal creature bound by an ancient spell to protect the kings of Samorna. When the realm is peaceful, she retreats to the Mistwood. But when she is needed she always comes. Isabel remembers nothing. Nothing before the prince rode into her forest to take her back to the castle. Nothing about who she is supposed to be, or the powers she is supposed to have. Prince Rokan needs Isabel to be his Shifter. He needs her ability to shift to animal form, to wind, to mist. He needs her lethal speed and superhuman strength. And he needs her loyalty--because without it, she may be his greatest threat. Isabel knows that her prince is lying to her, but she can't help wanting to protect him from the dangers and intrigues of the court . . . until a deadly truth shatters the bond between them. Now Isabel faces a choice that threatens her loyalty, her heart . . . and everything she thought she knew."

*It sounds like something fans of Kristin Cashore might enjoy, and in that case, I should love it. Thankfully, I don't have to wait too long to read it since it comes out in two weeks. What do you guys think?

I have been waiting on this one for months. I love the blurb but I haven't watched the trailer. I'm going to do that now. I'm thinking I will have to do another US import thingy again. I am going to be bankrupt!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, I just love, love, love the cover. That castle is amazing. My WOW Is at The Crowded Leaf.
ReplyDeleteYeah! I think this book is going to be a good one. And if it's anything like Kristin's work, then it'll be one of my fave YA books!
ReplyDeleteYes, I completely agree that Mistwood will be a book Kristin Cashore fans will enjoy! And if it is like Graceling and Fire, it will be excellent. I actually got a Mistwood ARC yesterday (from my library system's ARC list, not from Greenwillow) and I'm a little scared to start it. It has been getting such good reviews that I want it to surpass all of my expectations!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy ya fiction, will add to my pile, Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments, guys! Happy reading!
