Waiting on Wednesday: The Queen's Daughter

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine. "Waiting on Wednesday" spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

The Queen's Daughter by Susan Coventry
Pub. Date: June 8, 2010

Goodreads says, "Joan’s mother is Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, the most beautiful woman in the world. Her father is Henry II, the king of England. She loves them both—so what can she do when she’s forced to choose between them? As her parents’ arguments grow ever more vicious, Joan begins to feel like a political pawn.  When her parents marry her off to the king of Sicily, Joan finds herself with a man ten years her senior. She doesn’t love him, and she can’t quite forget her childhood crush, the handsome Lord Raymond.  As Joan grows up, she begins to understand that her parents’ worldview is warped by their political ambitions, and hers, in turn, has been warped by theirs. Is it too late to figure out whom to trust? And, more important, whom to love?"

*I have been pining for tons of historical fiction lately!  I guess I can't get enough or I need a break from the paranormal genre. Either way, this book looks awesome; plus, you can't deny that's a great cover.  What book are you waiting on?

  10. I have this one on my TBR list too. I think Eleanor of Aquitaine is a very intriguing person but I didn't really know anything about her daughter. I usually only read about Prince John and Richard the Lionhearted. Great pick!

  11. Wow that model's hair is amazing! Love it. The book sounds good, too. Man it would suck to be married of to some guy you didn't even know, much less love. Just another reason to be thankful for being born in the 20th century lol. Great pick Christina!
