In My Mailbox #33

Torment by Lauren Kate
*I thought Fallen was very entertaining so I am excited to read Torment.  I got the ebook version, which sort of makes me sad since I can't see the AMAZING cover close up.
Goodreads says, "How many lives do you need to live before you find someone worth dying for? In the aftermath of what happened at Sword & Cross, Luce has been hidden away by her cursed angelic boyfriend, Daniel, in a new school filled with Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans. Daniel promises she will be safe here, protected from those who would kill her. At the school Luce discovers what the Shadows that have followed her all her life mean - and how to manipulate them to see into her other lives. Yet the more Luce learns about herself, the more she realizes that the past is her only key to unlocking her future...and that Daniel hasn't told her everything. What if his version of the past isn't actually the way things happened...what if Luce was really meant to be with someone else?"

Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting
*There haven't been many books that send me into fangirl mode when I see them sitting in my mailbox, but this book was one of them.  I am such a huge fan of The Body Finder and have been dying to read Desires of the Dead even though it isn't out until March.  A big thank you to HarperCollins for sending me this one! It truly made my day.
Goodreads says, "When Violet Ambrose's morbid ability to sense the echoes of those who've been murdered leads her to the body of a young boy, she draws the attention of the FBI. She is reluctantly pulled into an investigation that will endanger more than just her secret...but her relationship and possibly her life as well."

Jane Austen's Best Friend by Cora Harrison
*I've had my eye on this book for awhile now as I pre-ordered it a months ago. I love all things Jane Austen so this seemed right up my alley. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
Goodreads says, "When shy Jenny Cooper goes to stay with her cousin Jane Austen, she knows nothing of the world of beautiful dresses, dances, secrets, gossip, and romance that Jane inhabits. At fifteen, Jane is already a sharp observer of the customs of courtship. So when Jenny falls utterly in love with Captain Thomas Williams, who better than Jane to help her win the heart of this dashing man? But is that even possible? After all, Jenny’s been harboring a most desperate secret. Should it become known, it would bring scandal not only to her, but also to the wonderful Austen family. What’s a poor orphan girl to do? In this delicious dance between truth and fiction, Cora Harrison has crafted Jenny’s secret diary by reading everything Jane Austen wrote as a child and an adult, and by researching biographies, critical studies, and family letters. Jenny’s diary makes the past spring vividly to life and provides insight into the entire Austen family—especially the beloved Jane."

What did you get in your mailbox?  Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think.  Have a great day!  This meme is hosted by The Story Siren.
