Little Women and Me by Lauren Baratz-Logsted
Pub. Date: November 8, 2011
Goodreads says, "Emily is sick and tired of being a middle sister. So when she gets an assignment to describe what she'd change about a classic novel, Emily pounces on Little Women. After all, if she can't change things in her own family, maybe she can bring a little justice to the March sisters. (Kill off Beth? Have cute Laurie wind up with Amy instead of Jo? What was Louisa May Alcott thinking?!) But when Emily gets mysteriously transported into the world of the book, she discovers that righting fictional wrongs won't be easy. And after being immersed in a time and place so different from her own, it may be Emily-not the four March sisters-who undergoes the most surprising change of all. Lauren Baratz-Logsted's winning confection will appeal to fans of Little Women as well as anyone who enjoys a modern twist on an old favorite."
*I love the premise of this one. I like the idea of waking up in your favorite novel....who hasn't thought about that before or am I just a nerd? :) But in all seriousness, a modern take on Little Women, one of my favorite classics, is definitely something I can't miss!
Oh, I've definitely daydreamed about waking up in my favorite novel (probably Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty, but Marcus would have to choose me over Jess). This one sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this one before! It sounds really, really great! Definitely going on my list. :) Thanks for sharing! I love finding new books. :)
ReplyDeleteOoooooooooooooooooo me too!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! I hadn't heard of this one before, and it definitely sounds like a cute read.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of The Little Women Letters by Gabrielle Donnelly? I think you might like that one. :)
Great pick. I am really looking forward to reading this one. I've read a couple of her other books and loved them I'm sure this one will be just as good.

This sounds fantastic and I added it to my TBR list. What a creative idea. I have read other books where people end up in the world of Jane Austen but never Louisa May Alcott. I always thought Jo should end up with Laurie. Maybe it will happen this time...Great pick!
ReplyDeleteA great pick!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower :)

Have a nice week.
Yes! Really looking forward to this one---Little Women is one of my favorite stories of all time, but I totally would have changed it so that Laurie ended up with Jo! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, everyone!
ReplyDeleteLeanna- I am actually going to get a copy of that one for review! I can't wait!
