Waiting on Wednesday: Thorn Abbey

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine.  "Waiting on Wednesday" spotlights upcoming releases that I'm eagerly anticipating.

Thorn Abbey by Nancy Ohlin
Pub. Date: May 7, 2013

Goodreads says, "Nothing is as it seems in this darkly romantic tale of infatuation and possession, inspired by Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca. Becca was the perfect girlfriend: smart, gorgeous, and loved by everyone at New England’s premier boarding school, Thorn Abbey. But Becca’s dead. And her boyfriend, Max, can’t get over his loss. Then Tess transfers to Thorn Abbey. She’s shy, insecure, and ordinary—everything that Becca wasn’t. And despite her roommate’s warnings, she falls for brooding Max. Now Max finally has a reason to move on. Except it won’t be easy. Because Becca may be gone, but she’s not quite ready to let him go."
I haven't read Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca, which served as inspiration for this book; however, I am very intrigued by Thorn Abbey. Anything that takes place in a boarding school always interests me. Doesn't it sound hauntingly good? Let me know what you think!

  4. I haven't read the original Rebecca either, but I did read a YA version of it last year - The New Girl - and was sadly disappointed in that one. Hopefully it was just that particular version and not the core story itself, because I have high hopes for this retelling!
