June Top Five:
1. Favorite Book: Tarnish by Katherine Longshore- I am such a sucker for a captivating historical read and Tarnish focuses on Anne Boleyn when she first arrives to court. I was hooked!
2. Biggest Surprise: Venom by Fiona Paul- The first third of this book, I wasn't too sure about it, especially because I wasn't the biggest fan of the protagonist. Much to my surprise, somewhere in the middle of the book, I got sucked in and can't wait to read book two of the series.
3. Biggest Disappointment: The Rose Throne by Mette Ivie Harrison - It takes a lot for me to not finish a book I received for review, but in this case, it just didn't work for me. Nope. Not at all, which is a shame as I LOVED the premise.
4. Favorite Post: My 2013 Picks for Beach Reads and Summer Reading List
5. Favorite Part of June: My vacation to the shore with my family. It wasn't the most relaxing since I've got a really active ten month old tagging along, but it was one that I'll remember forever. :)
So, what do you guys think of the books I read month? I hope everyone had a great month. I'm happy to be back blogging. Thanks for sticking with me while I was on my family vacation.
Oh, sounds like I need to read Tarnish. I have the first two books in that series but haven't checked out either of them yet.
ReplyDeleteI think you would really like them! You should definitely check them out when you get a chance. Thanks for stopping by, Leanna!
DeleteGlad to see you gave Tarnish such a high rating! I do have to be in a specific mood for historical, but I know I'll love this one when I finally get to it!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend it, especially if you like the Tudors. Thanks for visiting, Becky!
DeleteI can't wait to read Tarnish. I look forward to your review of Spies and Prejudice. I am still not sure about that one. I am kind of interested in reading The Selection but I may wait till the entire series is published.
ReplyDeleteThis month went by too quickly! I am not ready for it be July yet mostly because I am not looking forward to August and the end of summer. :)
I wasn't too impressed with Spies and Prejudice. It was fun, but wasn't a "WOW" kind of book by any means. I think my students would like it. I feel the SAME exact way as you regarding the summer. It needs to slow down! Thanks for dropping by, Christina!
DeleteI feel ya. I've been so busy too. We're on vacay in two weeks ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Have a great vacation! :) Thanks for visiting, Juju!
DeleteBTW, loved all the vacay pics on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
