Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wish Had Sequels
This week we are focusing on books that we wish had sequels. It isn't often that I wish for a sequel, because sequels seems to so very commonplace now, especially in the world of sweeping epics and series; however, there are a few books that I wish had sequels. Here they are:
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - I mean more Mr. Darcy is never a bad thing and obviously the sequel would have to be written by Austen herself in my dream world.
2. Golden by Jessi Kirby- I am dying to know how it all worked out for Parker Frost.
3. On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves - I know there are spin-offs to this book, but I want another book focusing specifically on T. J and Anna.
4. A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly- This is such a memorable book and beautifully written. I would love to read more.
5. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson - This was one of my favorite books of 2010. Who wouldn't want more?
6. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick- I want more of the Garrett family!
7. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen- Macy and Wes! Yes!
8. We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han- I love the way Han ended the series, but since it's my favorite series EVER, I want her to continue it. A girl can dream, right?
9. The Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy #6) by Richelle Mead- Same as my reasoning for #8 -- I definitely want more of Rose and Dimitri, not just a spin-off series.
10. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell- So, there are a ton of "sequels" written by other authors, but in an ideal world, Mitchell would have written book two.
So, what books do you wish had sequels? What do you think of my list? Let me know! (This meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, so check it out!)
I completely agree with this whole list. Loved Golden, but I wished we found out more of how Parker's life turned out. And I really want to read Gone With The Wind, but it's such a big book. I loved the movie though and agree that it needed a sequel! My TTT
ReplyDeleteI still need to read On The Island Christina! I've heard such great things about her books in general, but that one in particular. I'm with you on the sequel to My Life Next Door, I will always be in the mood for more of the Garrett family! They were awesome:)
ReplyDeleteI would love to read more about the cute couples from My Life Next Door and The Truth About Forever. I agree that sequels for P&P and Gone With the Wind would have been so awesome...but only if the authors themselves wrote them. Great list!
ReplyDeleteIt's very rare that I wish for a sequel, as well. More Mr. Darcy certainly wouldn't be a bad thing. And more of the Garretts would be graet - although I think I would prefer more of a companion novel, than a sequel.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with P&P and On The Island!
ReplyDeleteWe can never have too much Darcy, aha. And well, I was always curious of what happened to Kitty and Mary, if they also were lucky to found love.
And well T.J and Anna are one of my favorite couples, and although we get some of them on Uncharted I wanted more!
Great List :)
Joana@ A Bookworm Confessions
I never read the first "sequel" to Gone With the Wind - Scarlet. But I did read Rhett Butler's People. It was pretty enjoyable but would have been way better if she wrote it of course.
ReplyDeleteSo many great books here! I forgot P&P and Amy & Roger :( We have Truth About Forever in common (my favorite Dessen!) I really enjoyed the Summer series, and I wished more than the last chapter of the book (I need details!!!) Great list.
ReplyDeleteReading with ABC
Have you tried Uncharted (regarding On the Island)?
ReplyDeleteGreat list btw.
It would definitely be fun to have a sequel for My Life Next Door - especially if it featured the Garrett's! And I definitely need more Macy and Wes from TTAF. Ooh, and yes to VAMPIRE ACADEMY. Rose's POV was the best!
ReplyDeleteFabulous choices :)
On the Island made my list too. I would love to read more of TJ and Anna

My TTT.
I definitely would have loved an official sequel to Pride and Prejudice and wouldn't mind more books about Rose and Dimitri as adults. At least we sort of get to see them in the Bloodlines series. :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you threw Gone With the Wind and PandP into your picks!

I would love a follow up to Amy & Roger's Detour. I loved that book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my list, everyone! :) I appreciate it.
