Waiting on Wednesday: Pulled Under

This is a weekly meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine.  "Waiting on Wednesday" spotlights upcoming releases that I'm eagerly anticipating.

Pulled Under by Michelle Dalton
Pub. Date: May 6, 2014

Goodreads says, "In the small town of Pearl Beach, Florida, Izzy Lucas needs only her surfboard and the water to be completely happy. She wants nothing to do with parties, popularity contests, or showing her face around the clichéd touristy hangouts. Izzy’s tight group of coworkers at the local surf shop have tried relentlessly to break shy Izzy out of her (sea)shell. But Izzy isn’t interested…until the day Ben Barker walks into the store. Ben’s from the city. He’s cute, charming, and wants her help adjusting to beach town culture. As the weeks of surfing lessons and pizza shack visits fly by, Izzy and Ben realize their attraction goes beyond mere friendship. But Ben is only in town for three months, and Izzy wonders if this amazing guy is worth stepping out of her comfort zone for what might be the perfect summer romance—or her first heartbreak."
As you guys know, I LOVE a good summertime read and this one fits the bill.  There's a beach town, a pizza shack, and surfing…sign me up!  I read Michelle Dalton's Sixteenth Summer a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so I am definitely looking forward to this beach read. What do you guys think?

  4. Oooo this sounds AWESOME Christina! I'm definitely going to be rooting for them to work something out at the end of those 3 months, so this is going to be a book where I flip to the end first to see if they wind up together. I can't help it. I have to know before I read!

  9. I haven't read 16th Summer. Is this a sequel or related? Am I being dense? I love a good beach book. Yesterday we got into the 70s (back to the 50s today) and I almost wept with joy. Great pick!

    1. I believe it's just related and not a direct sequel. I am so jealous. I can't wait till we hit 70 degrees here. Thanks for visiting, natalie!

  10. Are the characters in this one the same characters from Sixteenth Summer? I haven't read that one, but I love the sound of this!

    1. No, I believe it's sort of a companion novel and I found out it's written by a different author using the name M.Dalton, which sort of annoys me. I will give it a try though! Thanks for visiting, Leanna!
