Spotlight on Brightly and a Giveaway
A few weeks ago, I came across Penguin Random House's new website, Brightly, which is dedicated to connecting parents to books for their young children with the hopes that their children will become life long readers. This really excited me, not only because I am a parent, but also because I am a certified reading specialist. What could be better than finding that perfect book for a young reader?
I explored Brightly's website and they have recommendations for babies and toddlers all the way up to teens and you can even find books regarding interests or themes. The website is so easy to use and gives parents and educators some really great recommendations. Even though I am an avid reader, I still am not sure which books suit my toddler, so this website has been wonderful for me!
As a parent of a young child, I especially love their article on "26 Pictures Books You Won't Want to Miss This Fall." So, so many great recommendations that my son is very excited about! Brightly also just published their Holiday Central: Gift Ideas, Seasonal Reads, and More which is a fantastic reference for the book lover in your life. The article highlights a variety of ages, which makes things so much easier when searching the shelves for that perfect bookish gift! Brightly even has a section of the website dedicated to "Grown Up Reads" and a "Just for Fun" section, which highlights whimsical articles as well as crafts and so much more.
If you are a parent, educator, or book lover, definitely subscribe to Brightly's newsletter to get all of this delivered right to your inbox. To learn more about Brightly, like them on Facebook, follow them on Instagram, and on Twitter.
Thanks to Brightly I will be hosting a giveaway for a Brightly tote bag and a few books from one of my favorite articles, "23 YA Books Your Teens Should Be Excited About This Fall." The giveaway is open to US readers only and the deadline is November 28th. Please refer to my giveaway rules and good luck!

Sounds like a wonderful resource! Thanks for the link to the YA article too. I'll have to see if there are some books I should order for our teen collection.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is, Christina! I hope you find it helpful. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteWow, what a great idea! I, of course, do not have children but I think that makes it even tougher for me to keep up with new children's books and when I'm trying to buy gifts this would be a huge help. Thanks so much for sharing this, Christina! Plus, who ever has enough tote bags?? :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Even though I have a son, I still have no clue what girls like to read at different ages, so this website is really helpful, especially when looking for a great gift. Thanks for visiting, Tara! And yes to tote bags! :)
DeleteBasically everything in the teens section is wonderful! So happy to have found this site!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you find it helpful! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteBrightly is quite new to me, so I'm excited to learn about it. I don't have children, but will definitely use it to see what's coming out for my MG students. I rarely read MG myself, but YA is a bit too old for my 6th graders, so this will be helpful. Thanks for the giveaway chance!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it should definitely help you with your MG suggestions. Thanks for visiting, Natalie!
DeleteAlmost everything in the list! Thanks for sharing this wonderful giveaway, Christina! xx

I always love their stronger readers articles, and even though I deal mostly with older teens and adults with my literacy volunteerism, sometimes I can still use the tips for them. I love promoting early reading so I have a Children's and a MG book blog as well as my main Adult/YA blog, and I like to share Brightly newsletter articles on their sister Facebook pages! I have a five year old book reviewer for my Children's blog and she would love some new books. Thank-you for the contest. :)
