The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
Pub. Date: November 7, 2017
Goodreads says, "On Christmas Eve five years ago, Holly was visited by three ghosts who showed her how selfish and spoiled she'd become. They tried to convince her to mend her ways. She didn't. And then she died. Now she's stuck working for the top-secret company Project Scrooge--as the latest Ghost of Christmas Past. Every year, they save another miserly grouch. Every year, Holly stays frozen at seventeen while her family and friends go on living without her. So far, Holly's afterlife has been miserable. But this year, everything is about to change."
I can't tell you how much I love the sound of this story. A Christmas Carol is one of my absolute favorite classics and this modern retelling sounds fantastic. Plus, it's by Cynthia Hand, author of the Unearthly series, which is one of my favorites. What do you guys think?
I love A Christmas Carol so this sounds really promising to me. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Christina! I am glad you agree. Thanks for visiting!

ReplyDeleteMe too, Becky. I completely agree. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteSooo much yes to this one. It sounds so fun. I was trying to think if I've read any other books with a "ghosts of"/Christmas Carol retelling and couldn't think of any. Surely it's been done, though? Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I don't think I have either. I hope it doesn't disappoint. Thanks for visiting, Natalie!
