2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand - I couldn't get into this one despite the fact that I love Hand's writing style and A Christmas Carol.
3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?
The Bourbon Kings by J.R Ward - plesantly surprised and entertained! I thought it would be too much of a "romance" novel for me, but it wasn't. It was so entertaining!

5. Best series you started in 2017? Best Sequel of 2017? Best Series Ender of 2017?
The Bourbon King series is a new series I started that I probably will continue with. I really liked Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han, which is the final book in that series.
6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2017?
Karen White, Michelle Gable, and Kristy Woodson Harvey - all new to me authors whose books I thoroughly enjoyed.
7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?
I thought The Hating Game would be too much of a "romance" novel for me, but it was awesome! I'm so glad I stepped outside my comfort zone.
8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?
Cocoa Beach by Beatriz Williams and I Found You by Lisa Jewell both had me on the edge of my seat!
9. Book You Read In 2017 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?
I don't re-read usually unless it's a classic or children's novel that I am reading with my son.

I didn't read a life-changing book this year, but I was blown away by Evelyn Hugo and Taylor Jenkins Reid's raw talent.

The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simmons - I learned so much about the time period in Russia, which I found really shocking. It definitely inspired me to learn more about the Siege of Leningrad.

The Hate U Give - the author's use of voice was very strong and the style was fantastic. The children's book, The Book of Mistakes, was also really unique, very memorable and beautifully illustrated.

The Hate U Give - due to the fact that the injustice experienced in the book is something that happens daily in our world.
