Can't Wait Wednesday: August and Everything After

Can't-Wait Wednesday is hosted by Wishful Endings and helps us spotlight upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating!

August and Everything After by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski
Pub. Date: May 1, 2018

Goodreads says,"Graduation can't come soon enough. Desperate for a fresh start, Quinn is eager to escape to her aunt's house on the New Jersey shore for the summer…away from teenage drama and having to answer everyone's questions about "what comes next" after high school.  Quinn can't bear to focus on the future. She doesn't even think she deserves one—not after her best friend died in a car accident that Quinn feels responsible for. But when Quinn meets Malcolm, a musician who has been trying to escape his own demons, she starts to believe in second chances."

I love that Jennifer Salvato Doktorski writes books that take place at the Jersey Shore! I've been going to the Jersey Shore since I was a baby, so it's always fun to read books that take place there. I enjoyed her other novel, The Summer After You and Me, so I am excited to check this one out. Bring on the beach reads! What do you guys think?

  1. So sick of this snow! I could go for a beach read (or preferably a day at a beach somewhere warm with a tropical drink in hand). Good pick!

    1. Me too! I'm starting to get stir crazy. We have had a lot of ice, so even when it snows, we can't go outside and play in it or there isn't enough to play in! Thanks for visiting, Christina!

    1. Me too! I loved her last book set at the Jersey Shore. She usually has it set at the beaches north of where I go, but it's still fun! Thanks for visiting, Angela.

  7. LOL I'm not ready for summer! I'm feeling a little cheated out of my Winter since we're already getting into the mid 70s here in CA, with not even a raindrop in sight. This book looks very heartbreaking and swoony though (sigh for musicians ♥.♥).
