I'm so torn this month. On one hand, I'd like to read all the beach reads I didn't get to this summer and on the other hand, I am ready for all the fall reads. I especially gravitate towards historical fiction in the fall and anything atmospheric. Here's what is on my TBR list this month.
Mistress of the Ritz by Melanie Benjamin - This novel is based on the real-life American woman who worked at the Ritz and secretly worked for the French Resistance during WWII.
Secrets of the Mist by Kate Ryder - This is a timeslip novel that takes place in England. Yes, please!
The First Lady and the Rebel by Susan Higginbotham - I love that this book focuses on the Todd sisters and how they were on opposites sides during the Civil War.
There are so many books I didn't get to this summer, so since my review schedule for September is pretty light, I am going to throw in as many of these titles as possible.
Realm by Alexandrea Weis - This novel tells the story of Roxana, Alexander the Great's wife. I love novels that feature stories about women that are often overshadowed by their husband.
The Orphan's Song by Lauren Kate - I really like the setting of Venice in the 1700s and I am excited to read Kate's first adult novel.
The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman - Everyone seemed to enjoy this book this past summer and I am excited to find what all the buzz is about. It seems many bookworms can relate to this bookish introvert!
The Birthday Girl by Melissa de la Cruz - I love a good thriller filled with secrets from the past.
The Royal Secret by Lucinda Riley - This one is about a journalist who discovers secrets surrounding the British monarchy.
A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer - I'm holding onto the beach reads as long as I can! This paperback just came out this summer and I am excited to revisit Nantucket.
