October brings cooler temperatures, pumpkins, falling leaves, and Halloween. In honor of the new season, I usually like to read a few spooky/atmospheric books; however, I find myself gravitating more towards historical fiction. Here are the books that I hope to read this month.
The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys - I'll read anything she writes. I am so excited for her latest novel, which takes place in Spain during Franco, the fascist dictator's reign.
Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren - Get ready for a new Christina Lauren novel! Woo hoo!
10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston - This sounds like the cutest YA novel ever featuring family, blind dates, and Christmas break!
Glow of the Fireflies by Lindsey Duga
I'm always on the hunt for a good YA fantasy and I like that this one includes magic--a perfect book for October!
Still waiting to be read from last month:
Secrets of the Mist by Kate Ryder - I think fall is the perfect time to read a timeslip novel. This one takes place in England.
The First Lady and the Rebel by Susan Higginbotham - I love a good historical read in the fall. This one depicts two sisters on the separate sides of history: Mary Todd Lincoln and Emily Todd Helm.
Marilla of Green Gables by Sarah McCoy - I love all things Anne of Green Gables and I feel like fall is the perfect time to dive into this one.
What books do you hope to cozy up with this October? Let me know in the comments.
I just finished Anne of Green Gables, so I'm really interested in a story about Marilla!
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to read it for a year now! Fingers crossed I can find the time this fall. Thanks for dropping by, Angela!
DeleteSo looking forward to the new Christina Lauren! And I definitely need to start reading Ruta Sepetys - her books look so good, but I just haven't gotten to one yet!
ReplyDeleteRuta's books are awesome, especially if you enjoy historical fiction. I am looking forward to the new Chrisitna Lauren book as well. Fingers crossed it doesn't disappoint. Thanks for visiting, Michele!
DeleteI want to read the first two on your list as well. Especially that Ruta Sepetys one!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading, Christina!
I am almost done with Ruta's latest book and it's very good. I hope you can read it soon! Thanks for visiting, Joy!
