Can't Wait Wednesday: The Book of Longings
Book Review: Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
It's a busy week coming up on the blog. I am hosting a children's book giveaway, I'm part of a blog tour for a Jane Austen inspired novel and I'll be sharing my thoughts on The Wicked Redhead by Beatriz Williams. I really enjoyed this second book in The Wicked City series, so keep your eye out for my review!
A Week at the Shore by Barbara Delinsky - Thanks to St. Martin's and NetGalley
Husband Material by Emily Beldon - Thanks to Harlequin and NetGalley
Sanditon by Kate Riordan and Jane Austen - Thanks to Grand Central Publishing
The World of Sanditon by Sara Sheridan - Thanks to Grand Central Publishing
Seven Stones to Stand or Fall by Diana Gabaldon
Curious to read your review of Ninth House! I've been putting it off for a bit because I couldn't get in to the first chapter and heard mixed reviews.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week ahead!
Yeah, it was good, but it wasn't great. I expected to be blown away. I should probably stick to her YA novels. Thanks for visiting, Danica!
DeleteSanditon is the starting point for this month’s six Degrees of Separation, a monthly meme I participate in hosted by booksaremyfavouriteandbest. I hadn’t realised Austen had an unfinished manuscript til then
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
That's so fun! Thanks so much for visiting, Shelley!
DeleteHusband Material is on my TBR, and I'm looking forward to your thoughts on The Wicked Redhead!
ReplyDeleteYou gave me the heads up regarding Husband Material - it sounds like so much fun! Thanks for visiting, Angela!
DeleteThe Ninth House is STILL sitting on my shelf. Ugh. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and weekend!

I look forward to your thoughts on it. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it if you catch my drift. Thanks for visiting, Natalie. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well!
DeleteI see your points about Ninth House but I really enjoyed it. It was a wild, dark ride but it kept my attention. I'll be interested to see where things go from here. I don't read much YA because it doesn't always feel very realistic. But this wasn't very realistic in some aspects and I loved it. Who knows why? This certainly wasn't high school with whining about minor issues though. It was full of triggers and very adult happenings, especially for a girl in her teens.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and enjoy your new reads!

I'm glad you enjoyed Ninth House, Anne. It was just an ok read for me, but I realize I may be in the minority regarding this as it is nominated for one of the best fantasy novels of the year according to Goodreads. I think I will stick with her YA novels. Thanks for visiting, Anne!
DeleteDefinitely looking forward to your review of The Wicked Redhead!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michele! I really liked it!
DeleteThanks, AJ. You do the same!
ReplyDeleteHusband Material looks good. I am loving all the illustrated covers lately.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
