Happy New Year! I hope this years brings you all the good things, including some great books. January is the perfect month to curl up with a thriller or mystery. I also like to throw in a few romances, too. Here's ten books that have caught my eye this month.
1. The Stolen Queen by Fiona Davis - 1/7
This book will transport readers from NYC to Cairo.
2. The Vanishing of Josephine Reynolds by Jennifer Moorman - 1/14
I love a story that has a touch of magical realism and this one takes place during the 1920s.
3. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros - 1/21
The third book in this much talked about and epic romantasy series.
4. A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young - 1/7
Young always writes such atmospheric novels and this one deals with a woman who is investigating her twin brother's death.
5. Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney - 1/14
I'll read any book that Feeney writes. Her dark thrillers are perfect for the cold months of January.
6. The Favorites by Layne Fargo - 1/14
This BOTM pick is a love story set in the figure skating world.
7. After Life by Gayle Forman -1/7
Forman writes about grief and death better than any young adult author out there.
8. The Crash by Freida McFadden - 1/28
Another psychological thriller from McFadden. This one is about motherhood and survival.
9. The Lodge by Kayla Olson - 1/7
A cozy rom-com that takes place at a Vermont ski resort. Sounds like the perfect January read!
10. Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix - 1/14
A twisty horror novel featuring witches, spells, empowering women.
